Votto lets people answer opinion questions, compare aggregate results, build a personal map, join Rooms, and, when available, create Rooms for a community, audience, organization, or group. Votto also offers optional AI-generated Reads and paid plans, including Plus, Pro, and Studio.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not give creators, sponsors, partners, or other users your individual answer history, raw lens answers, billing identifiers, session tokens, First Reads, or Deep Reads. Room owners and admins may see limited operational information needed to run a Room, as described below.
When you use Votto, we may collect:
We do not store your password in plain text.
You can answer many Takes and see basic results without creating an account. Anonymous maps are tied to the browser or session that created them. If you clear cookies, switch devices, or lose that session, we may not be able to reconnect you to that anonymous map.
Some Room invite links allow anonymous entry to reduce friction. If you enter a Room anonymously, Votto may associate that session with the Room, invite link, source, and aggregate Room analytics. Room owners do not receive your email unless you later enter with an account or otherwise provide one, and they do not receive your individual answer history.
Anonymous maps with answers may remain recoverable from the same browser for up to 24 months after last activity. After that, Votto may expire personal recoverability and retain prior answers only as aggregate or de-identified inputs for product statistics and result distributions.
Rooms help a creator, organization, or group understand how a specific audience is responding. Room owners and admins may see operational information such as Room members, roles, access status, invite-link labels, invite counts, request status, and, for registered users, account email and email verification status when needed to manage access.
Room dashboards are designed around aggregate and thresholded results. Owners may see counts, forming states, topic reads, benchmark comparisons, invite performance, and lens summaries when privacy rules allow. Votto does not provide them with individual answer histories, raw lens answers, anonymous IDs, session tokens, billing identifiers, First Reads, or Deep Reads.
We use information to:
Votto shows comparisons using aggregate results. Lens groups may be based on voluntary About You answers, Room context, invite/source attribution, or other labeled provenance. A source- or Room-attributed answer means the answer came through that context; it does not prove permanent community membership.
More specific Room, lens, source, audience, or cohort comparisons are thresholded so they do not expose small groups. Some results may stay in a forming state until enough answers exist. We may also suppress or disable a comparison if we think showing it would create privacy or integrity risk.
First Read and Deep Read use AI and only run when you ask. Votto does not pre-generate personal Reads in the background.
If you choose to generate a Read, Votto sends a limited package of your saved answers, your provided lens answers, your own source or Room context where relevant, prior Read context where relevant, and privacy-safe aggregate comparisons to an AI service provider. That provider may process and retain the request and response according to its commercial API terms and retention policies. Your email, password hash, account ID, session token, Stripe identifiers, and individual data from other users are not included.
Votto stores generated Reads for your account unless you delete your data or delete a Read where supported.
We use service providers for hosting, database storage, email delivery, product analytics, payment processing, security, and optional AI-generated features. These providers process information on our behalf and may retain limited operational records according to their own terms and policies.
Product analytics may include events such as page views, Takes served, answers submitted, skips, result views, account events, Room events, checkout events, and Read events. Analytics payloads should not include passwords, tokens, full answer histories, emails, or raw billing identifiers.
In settings, you can create an account, request password reset, delete your data, delete your account, and export your data where available. Export requires a verified email address so we can confirm account control.
Deleting data removes your Takes, skips, Reads, lens answers, source and Room audience memberships, and recent activity history from your account where technically feasible. Account deletion removes the account itself after password confirmation, but active paid subscriptions must be canceled before account deletion. Some aggregate, de-identified, legal, billing, security, or operational records may remain where necessary.
We keep registered account data while your account exists or as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, process billing, and maintain security. Read consent, generation, deletion, export, billing, Room audit, invite, and security logs may be retained as operational records.
Anonymous sessions with no meaningful activity may be deleted sooner. Anonymous maps with answers may remain recoverable for up to 24 months after last activity from the same browser, then may be retained only in aggregate or de-identified form.
Votto is not directed to children under 13. Users under 13 may not use Votto or submit information. If we learn that we collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. The updated policy applies to use of Votto after it takes effect.
